Four ways to light the cutout

Solid, breathe, pulse, or a rainbow sweep. The ring takes each app’s own accent colour, and saved presets keep the combinations you use most.

Privacy policy

Your notifications stay yours

Notch Light does not require an internet connection and does not include analytics, advertising SDKs, accounts, or telemetry.

Message text stays in memory

Notification message text is read in memory to match your rules; it is not saved or transmitted. The app remembers chat names, app identifiers, conversation identifiers, group status and recent activity times on your device for contact and group-chat rules. You can clear remembered chats in the app.

You control saved settings

Rules, presets, app-to-corner assignments and camera-cutout calibration are stored on your device. These settings and remembered chats are excluded from automatic Android backup. Rule and preset exports leave the app only when you choose to export or share them; exported rules can contain chat names and identifiers. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes locally saved settings and chats.

No network, no tracking

There is no internet connection requirement, and no analytics, advertising SDKs, accounts, or telemetry are included.

What the app requests

  • Notification access - so it can respond to notifications.
  • Overlay permission - to draw around the cutout.
  • Notification and battery settings (optional) - for its own status notices and screen-wake features.
  • Phone state (optional) - only for cellular signal strength in the status dial. Refusing it does not stop notification lighting.
  • Wi-Fi and network state - for the status dial's signal and connection indicators, without reading network names.

What it never requests

The app does not request camera, location, SMS, storage, or broad contacts access. If you choose a contact, Android shares only the contact you select through its system picker.

Sharing a report

Detection reports are yours to send

If you choose to share a detection report or device profile, the share action is initiated by you. The report contains device details needed to diagnose cutout placement, such as manufacturer, model, screen resolution, density, and cutout rectangle.

This policy applies to the Notch Light Android app, package com.notchlight.studio.
